BEING
Artist, Gaynor O’Flynn invites you to participate in the creation of a work of art, a song that transforms into sound & light, creating an immersive art installation about the power of simply BEING.
ART
BEING is first & foremost a sound & light work of art, an immersive experience, co created by creatives & Gaynor that lives in a physical & virtual exhibition space.
The work of art bathes you in sound & light as you see & hear you are the light you & we need to see in the world.
Simply download the BEING app & answer simple life questions that help you believe in you, your power & the power of people & planet. As you tell us what you are good at, what you get paid for, what you love doing & what the world needs you to do…
Using AI to translate your answers into a language of your choice, your words are then added to an evolving ‘song’, ‘performed’ by Gaynor.
The ‘song’ then transforms into sound & light, creating an immersive art installation where you see sound & hear light, the sound & light of who we are BEING.
You can also experience BEING remotely on your phone, laptop or tablet in the BEING virtual gallery, in the example above a digital twin of Tate Modern’s Tanks.
The BEING work of art by Gaynor O’Flynn helps you discover who you are, what you are, & what you really want to do with your precious human life.

ARTISTS
Gaynor is also interviewing creative elders across film, music, design, craft, performance & fine art, who can inspire us to use our creative skills & knowledge to be who & do what we love.
This will form a BEING podcast, book & will also form the basis of a documentary film, with extracts projected during the live installled work of art.
WHY
Human beings want to be happy yet many of us are anxious, neurotic & depressed…
Research & our hearts show us when we are serving people & planet, when we believe in something or someone greater than ourselves we are not only happier but healthier
Belief in our truth is a birth right that unites us, opening our hearts & minds to the true nature of life & the universe.
Humans are universally equipped with an ability to simply be & being ourselves & honouring others’ goodness, heals people & planet.

GAYNOR O’FLYNN
O’Flynn’s versatile work is rooted in a lifelong passion for music, meditation, & meaning. In her enlightened, evolving art practice, she has worked with artists including Bjork, New Order, Martin Creed, Richard Long, Underworld, Frank Black, The Verve, Terry Gilliam, Radiohead, Anton Corbijn, and PJ Harvey….
Her accomplishments range from creating the UK’s first Hip Hop film to achieving the highest-ever global webcast in 2000. She has created immersive commissions for UNESCO, performed at the Venice Biennale, turned her brainwaves into light at the London Symphony Orchestra, directed the first films for MTV Europe & created holographic works with Musion at PS1.
A tech evangelist, O’Flynn’s work is both deeply personal & collective. She explores hearing light, seeing sound, & feeling vibration through words, performance, & code. Sound & light sit at the core of her protean practice & drive her unique, performative approach to technology. She considers the audience as integral to the profound cognitive shifts she creates in her immersive, synaesthetic & experiential time-based media artworks.
From working with witch doctors in Benin, kora players in Senegal, shamans in Nepal, refugees in India and the unemployed in Liverpool, she has filmed, exhibited and made work from the ghettoes of Johannesburg to Easter Island, the Himalayas to Vietnam, Brooklyn to Brixton, Manchester to Mumbai…
Her eclectic art career defies definition.
Art happenings include the record for the most gigs in one Glastonbury, 22 in 2007 & music compositions that have featured on TV and Films including Oscar Winning Argo.
A retrospective of her Himalayan work in Delhi in 2015, campaigning for Artists' Rights, early adoption of alternative power, & ongoing advocacy for the Tibetan cause have seen her talking to millions on BBC, CNN & Sky & communicate her commitment to people & planet.
O’Flynn perceives her art, life & time as a medium for enlightenment.
